As a working millennial, we all want to escape once in a while from our day to day responsibilities. We want to be able to celebrate our birthdays, holidays, family vacation, girls trip, or a
Cheap Flight Apps
Jetradar App
One of my favorite travel applications that I use when looking to book an international flight is Jetradar. The app is super easy to use; you simply enter the to & from destination with the travel dates. It will start to search numerous airlines with multiple flight times. You can favorite a flight, so you can continue to watch the flight price and be notified when the price goes up or down. You can share your flight itinerary with family and friends if it is a group trip.

You can also explore a world map to see different places that you would not have thought about traveling to for a cheaper price than normal. You can also search for cheaper hotels at your destination. I have used Jetradar multiple times and have had positive experiences with overseas flights. I was even able to score a cheap flight to Venice for $400 RT from New York. Search for your flights at least 3-4 months in advance to get the best deal! You can also use Jetradar on your computer or iPad and download it through your phone app store.
Hopper App

Hopper is another travel app that you can use to find cheap flights and hotels. What I really like about Hopper is that you can look at the calendar and see when is the best day to travel to your destination. They have the colors: green (least expensive), yellow (moderate), and red (expensive & peak time) that allow you to save the most money.
Hopper will tell you the best time to purchase your flight and when it will start to get expensive before your tentative flight departure date. Another great feature it will watch the flight like Jetradar and tell you when the price fluctuates up or down. Lastly, it will send you notifications of different places to travel to and the best dates from your previous searches. I love this feature it gives me places I have not heard of and gives me an opportunity to research the city and country. Hopper is only available on your phone app store.
Other Travel Apps
Some other travel apps that I use when traveling domestic or international are Jetblue, Delta, British Airways, Iberia, and more. I like to use actual airline apps when purchasing domestic flights because it is simple and convenient. Plus if those airlines have a loyalty program, it allows you to redeem rewards after a couple of flights. I like to also download train time apps when traveling to different countries overseas so I can plan my day to explore the city.

Two important apps to keep on your phone that I would recommend are any translating app if you do not speak the language and Mobile Pass. Mobile Pass is a Mobile Passport that allows you to digitally submit passport and custom declarations. This app allows you to go through designated lanes at Customs. (Only for US & Canadian Passport Holders) This offers a quicker way to go through U.S. Customs (Mobile Pass Express Lane). This is super useful especially if you have ever gone through customs at JFK Airport. Mobile Pass is offered at participating U.S. airports. Check here to see if your airport is participating.
